Preparing Yourself For Post And Pre Vacation

Nothing is better for uplifting your spirits than a summer vacation. And, nothing is worse for dampening them than returning home.

Chances are, you’ve booked your time away and are making preparations already. In many ways, the lead up is the best thing. We rush out to buy bikinis, sun hats, and all the rest. Who wants to think about returning home at that stage? No one. Thinking about what you’ll do when you get back is a sure way to lessen the blow. It’ll also ensure you have everything you need.

But, what could you possibly need after your vacation? Here are a few things worth considering.

Skin Care

Chances are, you’re planning to do a little sun-seeking during vacation. Who wouldn’t? But, while burnt skin is bearable in the throes of the summer sun, it can be a pain when you return. In that after holiday glow, the last thing you want to deal with is peeling, sore skin. Stock up on a few things to ease the pain.

First, take some after sun with you. You can apply it after each day to lessen the effects. But, that’s not all you need. Once you get back, it’s worth turning your attention to an after-burn skin care routine.

Moisturizer is your best bet. Sun dries your skin, while moisture helps it to recover. When the peeling begins, you’ll need a heavy-duty moisturizer to see you through.

Try out a few products before you buy. Check out these FREE SAMPLES of Eucerin lotion and others like them. Once you find a product you like, stock up on a full-size version and put it somewhere safe. Chances are, those free samples are travel size. So, why not take them away with you and get a start on things?

Change up your makeup

The majority of us change our makeup with the seasons. But, your tanned face is going to call for more drastic action.

Before you head off, it’s worth stocking up on a new makeup collection. Foundation is the most crucial ingredient. While your other makeup should still look fine, your standard foundation isn’t going to suit your tanned skin.

Opt for a shade darker than you normally buy, and keep it on hand in case you need it.

Stay in style

So, you’ve spent plenty of time putting together your holiday wardrobe but you can’t come home bringing back the sun, so now what? You want something that shows off your tan but keeps you warm. Those summer straps may not suit the climate of your hometown.

It’s well worth stocking up on a few things that show your sun-kissed skin without leaving you freezing. Keep these clothes hidden, and get them out once you return. As well as being practical, new clothes are a sure way to perk yourself up after that depressing return.
