Living in Canada has taught me that not every Fall season is going to be the same. One year it’ll be super cold and the next year, it’ll be warm.

But there are only a few fall staples on my must-haves list that I keep in my closet at all times.

1| Bomber Jackets

Bomber Jackets are often lightweight but have great insulation to keep you warm. Because bomber jackets are often not as curve fitting, I personally love going for the waist rib-knit as it looks flattering especially around the curves.

Waterproof shells are also super important as more often than not, you’ll never know when a rain cloud will decide to fly over you – or even snow.

2| Parkas

Parkas often come semi-fitted and are often straight cut. I’m short and often get cold really easily, so parkas are great when the weather can drop lower than 0 as it provides more warmth from the neck down to my thighs (or knees).

Similar to the Bomber Jackets, they don’t often help insinuate your body’s curves, but if you purchase parkas with a cinched waists you’ll find that it’s more flattering on your body.

3| Hoodies

My all-time favorite must have are warm hoodies. Whether I’m on the next flight to a new adventure or simply going out for some good food, hoodies are the perfect layering piece. It’s perfect on its own or under your favorite jacket.

If you’re anything like me, I love to keep warm. So I always go for ones that have great insulation, lightweight but also cute. Gotta stay stylish even when you’re cold right?

4| Beanies

Let’s be real, fall isn’t the same without a beanie or a toque. I often buy a bunch of different styles to ensure that I’ll always have one that would fit my outfit.

As most people, my favorite is go-to color is always black – because well, it matches everything.

I also like to keep my head toasty so I always go for the thicker type of beanies to ensure I can still brave the coldness of fall (and winter).

5 | Scarves

If you’ve seen me lately on my InstaStories, you’ll notice I’ve been rocking scarves lately. Yes, Canada is starting to get a little colder but not enough to layer on too many clothes and scarves are perfect neck accessory.

I buy both thick scarves as well as light, based on my outfit I match them accordingly. However, once winter hits… you bet I’ll be wrapping myself up more in thicker scarves! Especially in blanket scarves!

6| Boots

I can’t tell you how important it is to have a good pair of warm boots. Living in Canada all my life, there’s a huge difference from cheaping out on boots – and your toes will thank you for investing a little more.

Always look for waterproof and/or water repellent boots with warm insulation to get you through cold days and nights. A mixture of both cold feet and soggy socks is a dangerous combination, especially in negative degrees weather.

Believe it or not, you can still stay stylish while staying warm. I always believed that anyone can look amazing as long as they carry that radiant confidence regardless of the extra layers of clothing you put on. You’d be surprised at how many people can look at you and say, ‘damn how does s/he do it?!’

yes to all of these! I hate fall and winter and being cold. I’ve already busted out my north face a few times! Ive also realized, in my old age here hehe, that I prefer a hood to a hat. I just hate hats,
